Blue Christmas was written by Billy Hayes and Jay W. Johnson. But what you didn’t know is that Zeb Carver was one of the original writers on the song.

“The partner of my Grandpop (Billy Hayes) made an agreement
that if this fellow could get someone famous to record this song he wanted his name on it and my Grandpops name off.” steelguitarforum.com/Forum10/HTML/004710.html
It is considered a staple of country Christmas music.
First recorded by Ernest Tubb in 1948.

The most popular version of the song is by Elvis Presley who made it a steadfast rock-and-roll holiday classic by recording it in his signature style in 1957. Presley didn’t even want to record the song. The late Millie Kirkham, the Nashville singer who sang soprano during the session, recalled Presley saying, “Let’s just get this over with.”
